The Daily Flash is back! + Chet Helms stuff

The Daily Flash is back! The Northwest legends from the 1960’s have reunited! Original band members Steve Lalor and Barry Curtis (also a member of the Kingsmen) have revived this group, pulling in Don Wilhelm (formerly of Heart) and Steve Peterson (another member of the Kingsmen) fill in the missing pieces. You can go to their website, check out their two (2?) blogs, and learn more about their music, which mixes folk, rock, pop, bluegrass, jazz and psychedelia.

By the way, the graphic I’ve used for this page is from an old Family Dog event up in the Northwest that featured the Daily Flash as the headliners. This image is copyright Family Dog/the Chet Helms estate. Speaking of Chet Helms, on Sunday, October 30th, there will be a big tribute concert for Chet at Speedway Meadows in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco. It’ll be a FREE event with lots of the bands that knew and loved Chet Helms.

Of course, I should take this opportunity to remind folks that if they have ANY Chet Helms footage on video or film, please send an email to James MacLeod via chet-video @ rantical.com. You can also call (650) 355-3276 anytime- 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
