Roy Young With The Tritons – LOUIE of the Week

Posted on September 25, 2012

This week, we showcase a rare LOUIE version my friend Clay Stabler discovered. it’s an Italian vinyl release from 1974. Roy Young With The Tritons was the band, and the discogs.com website provided some basic information about this release:

Roy Young With The Tritons ‎– Rock On The Road
Label: Fonit Cetra International – ils 9038
Format: Vinyl, LP
Country: Italy
Released: 1974
Genre: Rock
Style: Acid Rock

The discogs.com page not only shared photos of the album, but also photos of the record label.

As fate would have it, someone provided a clip of this track on YouTube so we could hear what it sounds like.

It’s pretty exciting to find a 38 year old recording of the song I’ve never heard of, especially when the arrangement is very different from other recordings of the song.

Digging around the internet for information about this band, I found a reference to this recording on secondhandsongs.com, a website with an online database of various cover songs… which led to even more bookmarking….

… and the adventure continues…

These tracks were recorded by the Roy young Band in 1973 at Escape Studios. I was the writer of several of those songs also the guitarist on all of these tracks, however we got no credit for our work. Ripped off in other words. Not happy about this.
