New Riders of Purple Sage – a 1973 version of LOUIE LOUIE

Posted on November 27, 2007

With the tip of the hat to my pal David Gross, I found out about a newly discovered version of LOUIE LOUIE from New Riders of the Purple Sage. It’s a track called “Who Likes LOUIE LOUIE” on their newly released Live Archive CD release from March 17, 1973 at Stonybrook, New York.

What’s great is you can actually download a little sample of this version. Just go to:
http://www.nrps.net/music/livearchives.html

Under the Stony Brook CD description, look for the
“You can sample each song by clicking Listen here” phrase.

Click on the 6th track on CD 2, and sample..
“Who Likes LOUIE LOUIE?”

And there you go… another version of LOUIE LOUIE!
