R.C. Allen Tribute All Stars – LOUIE of the Week

Posted on February 1, 2011

This week’s LOUIE LOUIE is part of a big tribute all-star band for the legendary California luthier R.C. Allen. In this band, you’ve got Deke Dickerson, Del Casher, Glen Glenn and the man himself, Mr. R.C. Allen.

Every guitar on stage is an R.C. Allen guitar.

You can hear LOUIE LOUIE at the 3:20, right after “Pipeline” and some words from the stage…

Deke Dickerson, who’s wearing the cowboy hat on the right side of the stage, is probably the main man to blame for this festive moment. Every year, Deke assembles a big Guitar Geek Festival where lots of guitar enthusiasts get together to celebrate guitars.

Deke’s a good guy, and we’ve got some mutual friends in the LOUIE universe. Over on the Rachel Maddow TV show a couple of weeks ago, Deke did a little interview, and even snuck a quick little LOUIE performance, which you can experience by CLICKING HERE.

You can keep track of Deke’s world by visiting
DekeDickerson.com.

I don’t know much about R.C. Owens, but apparently he was quite an innovator when it came to building guitars. Click on on a couple of these links for more information about this guy…
