In a few weeks, the Northeast Louisiana Music Trail, a non-profit organization established to honor the rich musical heritage of Northeast Louisiana, will be paying tribute to Richard Berry (the author of LOUIE LOUIE) at the town where he was born, exactly 89 years and 3 days later.
On Sunday, April 14, 2024, 1:00 PM at the Locust Hill Baptist Church in Extension (part of Franklin Parish), Louisiana, there will be a very special ceremony to unveil the newly installed permanent marker that will celebrate Richard Berry and his musical legacy.
Some members of Richard’s family will be in attendance. For more details about this event, please visit the Northeast Louisiana Music Trail Facebook page or Enoch’s Irish Pub & Cafe in Monroe, Louisiana.
