Eight more days ’til Courtmen show

Posted on August 21, 2009

For those of you that would like an opportunity to see the guy that sang LOUIE LOUIE with the Kingsmen, you’ve got a chance next weekend. Jack Ely, who left the band before it had the big hit, and wasn’t allowed to rejoin, is doing a big show with his Courtmen next weekend..

The National Guard Armory in Ontario, Oregon will be the place for a big show called “It Will Never Happen Again” that’s taking place on Saturday, August 29. Along with Jack Ely & the Courtmen, there’s also going to be Crystal Ship and the Sundowners, two other Northwest bands that haven’t played for something like 40 years….?

The show is a benefit for the Southeast Regional Food Bank of Oregon.

The official website for this event is Bob Dye‘s Ontario Armory rock & roll page at:

There’s also more details at the Ontario Argus Observer article.

Here’s a little preview of what to expect…

According to Jack, the show was completely sold out, and raised some serious money for the food bank! WONDERFUL!
