Today, we’ll start a new feature we’ll call “LOUIE at the movies,” which we’ll use to discuss motion pictures that referenced the song LOUIE LOUIE – either with a performance or a mention of the song.
The “Jaco” documentary on jazz bassist Jaco Pastorius is one of the latter, featuring no actual LOUIE performances, but a reference of a special moment described by Flea (of the Red Hot Chili Peppers) in the life story of this legendary musician that passed away in 1987.
I haven’t found any recordings of Jaco Pastorius performing the song yet, but I have a feeling it’s just a matter of time.
