For those of us that still love the Kinks, there was plenty to celebrate with the recent performance of the “Kast Off Kinks”, a special band featuring former members of the band. This special performance took place at the Meltdown Festival in London on June 14th, 2011.
The “Kast Off Kinks” consisted of Dave Clarke, Mick Avory, John Dalton, Ian Gibbons, with assistance from the Bras-section from Oslov(Øyvind Hartmann, Kid Jensen and Dag Eriksen).
As luck would have it, they performed a beloved cover song from the Kinks repertoire – Richard Berry‘s LOUIE LOUIE!
