This week, for the LOUIE of the Week, the top prize goes to the grandaddies of garage, aka the Kingsmen, who created this special music video in 1983. It’s a Delta House setting, with a tip of the hat to the ANIMAL HOUSE movie which some might claim was partially responsible for the LOUIE LOUIE revival.
The lead singer at the time was Freddie Dennis, who was a member of the Kingsmen between 1972 and 1984. After that, Freddie was the leader of another Pacific Northwest band known as Freddie & the Screamers from 1987 to 1995. He’s a currently playing bass and singing with the Sonics.
