It was about a year and a half ago that I wrote about Ricardo Montalbán as the “best actor in LOUIE LOUIE tragic death category” with his performance as the arch-villain in the “The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad!” motion picture.
I am saddened to report that Leslie Nielsen, the star of this great comedy, has joined Mr. Montalbán in the category of no-longer-living-entertainers.
In my post on Mr.Montalbán, I posted a YouTube clip that featured the LOUIE-specific scene where Montalbán played an evil villain that died after being shot by Lt. Frank Drebin, Leslie Nielson’s character, falling from the bleachers of a sports arena, only to be flattened by a stream roller, then walked over by a marching band that performed “LOUIE LOUIE.”
Unfortunately, that clip has been removed, but I did find a cool YouTube compilation of other choice moments of Leslie Nielsen’s performances in the Naked Gun movies.
We’re going to miss you, Mr. Nielsen!
