It was bound to happen…. a band known as the _____ _____s played a song that sounded just like _____ _____ !
On Sunday, May 11, 2025, I witnessed a band called LOUIE LOUIES play “Plastic People” -a Frank Zappa variation of the song. The event was the 19th edition of Mothers of Invention Day – a celebration of Frank Zappa music that’s been happening for two decades in the San Francisco area. This one, just like the last one, took place at the New Farm.
There’s two videos here. The first one’s my footage of the Louie Louies performing THE SONG and “Dog Breath Variations”- another Frank Zappa song.
The second video is a video of me shooting video!!
Having witnessed the LOUIE LOUIES and chatted with Andy Henning, the main LOUIE, i can verify that they are indeed a fine bunch of musicians absolutely worth seeing!
