Oh… these silly book sellers…..

Posted on February 17, 2006

Today, I stumbled upon an interesting little website….
http://www.tommytbooks.com/tomlist.html

If you scan to the mid-way point, you’ll see….

[01324] Marsh Dave. Louie Louie. New York: Hyperion, 1995. First Stated. 8vo – over 7¾” – 9¾” tall. Red HB w/black Cloth Spine. As New / As New. 245pp. Never read! Autographed by Dick Peterson and Stretch Riedle, two members of The Kingsmen – they signed this for me at Powell’s in Portland in 1995. Very rare autographs. $50.00

This is pretty funny. Stretch was never a member of the Kingsmen, but he he has been very involved in the LOUIE LOUIE universe. In 1998, he joined me, Dave Marsh, Jack Ely, Mark Lindsay, Roger Hart and Buck Ormsby for a special LOUIE LOUIE panel at the North By Northwest panel in Portland, Oregon, but he never did anything at Powell’s Books in 1995.

The key phrase here is “Never read.” Nuff said…..
