I’m back intact from my quick little roadtrip to Southern California for this LOUIE project. I got a lot of good things done on this excursion, and I’ll reporting on some of this in future blog postings.<\/p>\n
By producing this film, I’ve been accused of being nostalgic for the past, as I embrace and celebrate the music of this funny little song that was written in the 50’s, and made very big in the 60’s. I suppose I’m also nostalgic for a past that didn’t seem it was so very long ago. The last time I spent any serious time in Los Angeles…. as opposed to quick 12 hour visits, gas was only $1.50 a gallon and modestly cheap (not skank) hotel rooms were $40 a night. In 2007, gas is $3.30 a gallon, and the cheap hotel rooms are $85 a night. It doesn’t seem it like was that long ago, but there’s been a lot of changes in the past 8 years. Sometimes, life does feel so much like an episode of the Twilight Zone, where “normal” things are not quite “normal” anymore, and there’s nothing I can do about it.<\/p>\n
