I don’t normally post information about stolen equipment at the LOUIE REPORT, but this time it’s something that’s way too close for comfort. My friend Alec Palao<\/strong> has been a great ally of LouieLouie.net, and the upcoming MEANING OF LOUIE documetary. Alec has done some superb work with Ace Records, assembling some wonderful CDs- “Love That LOUIE- The Louie Files,” The Wailers “At The Castle\/The Wailers & Company” 2-for-1 CD collection, The Sonics “Psycho-Sonic,” as well as various compilations assembled from the Gary Paxton archives. Alec Palao also plays bass with Magic Christian, the Flamin’ Groovies, and Chocolate Watchband.<\/p>\n

Please spread the word – the bass in particular is of tremendous sentimental value.<\/p>\n

THEFT OF MAGIC CHRISTIAN\/FLAMIN’ GROOVIES EQUIPMENT<\/strong><\/p>\n

The following items were stolen from locked car trunk May 26th at approx 2:20 am, in parking lot at 6141 Franklin Ave (at Gower), Hollywood<\/p>\n

Rickenbacker 4001 S bass guitar
\nSerial #: OJ 6910
\nColor: red
\nVintage: 1975
\nDistinguishing marks\/characteristics:
\nTwo jacks (stereo), rusty faceplate screws, no pickguard cover, worn patch on back at top. Instrument was is black padded gig bag<\/p>\n

Gallien-Krueger 400RB-IV amplifier head<\/p>\n

Gallien-Krueger 410 speaker cabinet (all black)<\/p>\n

Small black nylon duffel with zip containing numerous instrument and power cords for above plus instrument tuner and bass strings.<\/p>\n

CD wallet containing approx 50 CDs<\/p>\n

Point of theft is the parking lot adjacent to the Best Western Hollywood Hills Hotel and 101 Coffee Shop, the latter a known gathering place for musicians. Surveillance footage and the precise nature of the theft suggest it may have been planned. Equipment had been used prior at a Magic Christian show at The Echo in Echo Park.<\/p>\n
