The Fabulous Wailers<\/strong> just came from playing at the Ponderosa Stomp<\/strong> in Memphis, and Kent Morrill sent me this report:<\/p>\n

Memphis: The Fabulous Wailers wowed them with the good old Northwest Sound…in Memphis at the Ponderosa Stomp held May 8th, 9th, and 10th. That was the feed back we received after our hour and a half show we played on Tues night (we played longer than any of the some 100 artist and was the only act at that stage to receive an encore…to our knowledge). There were some great historical acts performing this year such as Boots Randolph, Frogman Henry, Fats Domino’s sax player, Elvis’s drummer and guitar players, James Burton, and many, many more: (see link: www.ponderosastomp.com<\/a> for complete line up). We got to spend time at Graceland which was amazing and also at the Stax Record Museum and Sun Recording Studios. Memphis food is great and every club and corner in Beale Street has some good blues bands and artists to hear. The event raised money for musicians in New Orleans that lost nearly everything including their instruments. All in all we had a ball and it looks like we are invited back for the next one.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Not only that, but Kent has informed me about the upoming LOUIE Fest:<\/p>\n

This year LouieFest is back big time! It will be held at Sprinker Park & Recreation Center in Spanaway, Washington on August 19th from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm. This year we intend to break the Guinness World Book record for most guitar players playing “Louie Louie” together<\/strong>. We are shooting for 1,500. LouieFest ’06 will also feature 4 stages with bands playing throughout the day along with a giant classic Car & Bike show and lots of vendor booths, entertainers, prizes, etc. If you would like to be a part of history and can play the three chords for “Louie Louie” you can sign up on line….as well as get complete info on booths and car & bike resistration by going to: www.louiefest.com<\/a> We hope to see everyone there and help “Louie Louie” set even more records in the music world.<\/p>\n
