LOUIE LOUIE show in Paris – THIS WEEK!

I’ve been invited to speak at a very special LOUIE LOUIE event in Paris. While I won’t be able to fly from California to France, I will be appearing in Paris via Skype as a guest lecturer.

Here’s the official description of the event, as translated by Google Tools:

LOUIE LOUIE – A proposal and Camille Francois Aubart Pageard
June 23 – July 2, 2011

From June 23 to July 2, the CNEAI DE PARIS welcomes Louie Louie, a program of video by Nate Harrison, Seth Price, and Michael Riedel and Eric Predoehl conference. Organized by Francois Aubart Pageard and Camille, it will be an opportunity to extend the issues involved in the program eponymous meetings hosted by the School of Fine Arts of Angers and the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Art de Bourges and coordinated Sébastien Pluot and Hervé Trioreau respectively teachers in both schools. These few days will also be an opportunity to discover all seven editions from this project, available for sale.

Louie Louie was written in 1955 by Richard Berry. Known as one of the times in the history of rock, the exact number of versions is incalculable. Louie Louie was also a controversy known copy of the travel related to this multiplication. In the version produced by the Kingsmen in 1963, the lyrics are difficult to understand and some listeners say that in this story of a sailor away from his beloved hides the explicit mention of sexual debauchery. From that date, Louie Louie become the subject of much speculation going so far as to imagine that other words become audible when playing 45 RPM speed of 33 rpm.

This song and its history is marked by two phenomena and interpretations generated by transmission. One is based on an oral strain, the second on the disruption of a diffusion technique. These are the two sides explored in the project Louie Louie. It is considered that any transmission of an item, whatever it is, is discounted. Since any distribution, whether oral, mechanical or digital means? On and redefine what is transmitted, we can consider that this result is not a copy or a reproduction but an original new one being marked by its own characteristics.

Louie Louie The project was developed during different times of work and found in art schools and in Angers Bourges: a study day attended Alexis Guillier, Will Holder, Emily and Benjamin Parendeau Seror, a workshop led by Clement Rodzielski and Jill Gasparina conference.

Each of these events have given rise to many publications made during workshops led by designers Charles and Coline Sunier Maze. In these editions added a chapter of the draft Outside Awareness Dybbroe Simon Møller and the first French translation of Dispersion of Seth Price.

June 24 to 19 hours will be a lecture by Eric Predoehl . Director and specialist in the history of the song Louie Louie, he is preparing a documentary on the history of this song.

So for those of you that find yourself in Paris on Friday, June 24th at 19 hours (aka 7 pm), I’d like to invite you to visit CNEAI DE PARIS! I’ll speaking live from California at 10 am!
