The LouieLouie.Net Sell-out Page

Financing a complicated music documentary is not something for the easily-intimidated. There's a lot of expenses one must contend with, and it's for this reason I've launched this new section of the website to pay some bills. To simplify matters, I've set this page up with PayPal, so you can use your credit card or checking account to pay for these items. If you are not already a PayPal user, you can receive $5.00 in credit by using me as a referral. You can also use regular old snail-mail with a money order or check if you are so inclined, but be aware there are still shipping and handling fees.

Film Credits

You can contribute directly to the production of the documentary THE MEANING OF LOUIE, and get your name in the film credits.

For $100, your name will be put in the "Special Thanks" category. You will receive a certificate, and a special CD-R of rare recordings of LOUIE LOUIE.

For $500 or more, you will be listed under the "Associate Producers" category. In addition to a certificate, and a CD-R, you will also receive material that goes beyond what's listed on this sales page. You will receive an invitation to the world premiere, and updated information that's more considerably more extensive the semi-regular LouieLouie.Net newsletters.

Rare Jack Ely's "Kingsmen" photograph -autographed

In 1963, Jack Ely became the default vocalist for the Kingsmen when they recorded their rendition of "Louie Louie" as nobody else in the band seemed to know the words. After a falling out with fellow Kingsmen Lynn Easton, Jack left the band that year, and never again sang with the band. As the song became a massive hit single in the USA, Jack tried to re-join the band, but was rejected. As there were some other musical groups called "the Kingsmen," a promoter recommended that Jack create a band called "Jack Ely & the Kingsmen" so he could cash in on the public demand to see live performances of the band. Jack toured with his "Kingsmen" for awhile until the other Kingsmen took Jack to court, and stopped Jack from using the Kingsmen name.

I came across some copies of an original promotional photograph of Jack's altenative Kingsmen, and was able to talk Jack Ely into autographing a few of these for his fans. As Jack is semi-retired on a horse ranch in Oregon these days, his stage performances are few and far between. All autographed photos come with a certificate of authenticity. (supplies are limited)

Louie Louie Wine Cooler bottle -unopened

In the 1980's, there was a big wine cooler trend. Ringo Starr pitched Sun Country Wine Cooler, Bruce Willis sold Seagram's Wine Cooler, and California Cooler won a special Clio award for a series of commercials that used "Louie Louie" in their advertisments. Somewhere up in the Pacific Northwest, someone thought it would be great if there was an actual "Louie Louie" wine cooler. It looked like this might be another success story until the music publishing company that owned the song discovered that the music was reproduced on the label without actual permission. Needless to say, this venture was shut down, and all evidence of this beverage are extremely hard to come by.

Luckily, we've got a small stock of this wine cooler, and we're ready to ship this to others in the U.S.A., assuming you're not living in Utah, Michigan, Maryland, Massachusetts, Tennessee, or Kentucky. Those particular states have laws restricting the importation of alcohol, although I'd be hard pressed to consider this a "drinkable beverage." I suppose I could label this collectible as "not intended for consumption," but it's a gray legal area that deserves more investigation. Additionally, international shipments shall be considered on a case-by-case study. (supplies are limited)

Curently, these bottles are NOT available for shipping. For more details on the legal status of shiping these bottles, please refer to the LOUIE REPORT blog entry on this subject.

Get a 4-pack of these bottles, with the special cardboard holder for $100.00 Believe me, I wish I could sell this, but shipping is a nightmare.

Louie Louie Wine Cooler bottle -empty

For those of you living in Utah, Michigan, Maryland, Massachusetts, Tennessee, or Kentucky, this might be the simple solution. Luckily, the guy who emptied these bottles did so very carefully, saving the original bottle and foil wrapper, so you can actually fill these bottles up with green water, and imagine that these are unopened!! Experts will have a hard time telling the difference! Supplies are limited, so act now if you have any interest in obtaining some of these.

Louie Louie Wine Cooler bottles flats -autographed editions
(MAY EVENTUALLY BE AUCTIONED on eBAY)

Tentatively, we are planning on setting aside a batch of autographed Louie Louie wine coolers for auction on eBay. These collectible bottles have been autographed by the late Richard Berry (author of Louie Louie), Jack Ely (former Kingsmen vocalist), Mike Mitchell (original and current guitarist of the Kingsmen), Buck Ormbsy (leader of the Wailers), Ken Chase (producer of the Kingsmen), Norm Sunholm (former Kingsmen bassist), and perhaps a few others yet to be announced. We are in the process of investigating certain legal statures for states that do no allow the importation of alcohol. Certainly no collector in their right mind want to drink this stuff, which would devalue these items, but we want to make sure we can do this without breaking any laws. Please continue to check back on this webpage for more information.

Louie Louie Button Set from KFJC Marathon

When KFJC Radio set out to create MAXIMUM LOUIE LOUIE, the largest marathon ever created to celebrate the song "Louie Louie," there were some unique items created to celebrate this momentous ocassion. While the special t-shirts are long gone, there are still a few MAXIMUM LOUIE LOUIE buttons available for the discriminating LOUIE LOUIE consumer. There were two types of LOUIE LOUIE buttons- "LOUIE LOUIE "and "(NO) LOUIE LOUIE." Folks often ask, why would anyone celebrating LOUIE LOUIE create a "NO LOUIE LOUIE" button? Those listened to the entire 63 hour marathon understand completely why this button was created. It's truly a love-hate relatonship that transcends normal logic. The buttons come with a little historic certificate. (supplies are limited)

Louie Louie Merchandise from CafePress Shop

Now, you can order special LOUIE LOUIE merchandise directly from the LOUIE LOUIE CafePress Shop. Recycling the "No LOUIE LOUIE" logo that was first used at the legendary KFJC MAXIMUM LOUIE LOUIE marathon, there's a whole line of new LOUIE products now offered at the all-new LOUIE LOUIE CafePress Shop.

Some of you might ask "Why a No-LOUIE LOUIE symbol?" To some folks, this seems like an absolute contradiction to an event that celebrates the spirit of this fine song. The reasoning was that if you listened to a full weekend of non-stop LOUIE LOUIE, you would appreciate the irony of a "No LOUIE LOUIE" symbol.

Songwriter Richard Berry loved this "No LOUIE LOUIE" logo, and wore his "No LOUIE LOUIE" shirt proudly. He understood the joke.

So, whether you are a fan of this song, or want to send a gag gift to someone that thinks that LOUIE LOUIE is a terrible song, your purchase provides some extra profit that can be used towards production of the upcoming MEANING OF LOUIE

Donation

Production of the documentary THE MEANING OF LOUIE has been an expensive proposition. To date, the project has been financed entirely by the filmmakers, who support themselves as freelancers in the field of video production. We've had a few token donations, but 99.99% of the funds has come from our own pocketbooks. As of November 2006, the film is 85% completed, and we are nearing the point of completion for this project. We are currently seeking completion money to shoot the remaining interviews and get to work on the task of editing this ambitious epic.
At this point, we are to open to donations from the public as we shuffle things around to complete this project. We continue to meet with anyone that has interest in partnering with us on this project. Here's a sample rundown of expenses:

$10,000 is the price (per minute) of certain essential television picture clips we'd like to license.
$6,500 is the price of a video camera we'd like to buy to replace an old camera..
$1,500 pays for one month of credit card bills.
$1,000 seems to be the going rate for certain types of video, photographic, or web-design software we'd like to purchase.
$750 usually covers the cost of hiring an extra camera operator or audio engineer.
$150 sometimes pays for one night of hotel accommodations.
$75 pays for a typical phone bill.
$25 pays for an average dinner.
$10 pays for a typical lunch.
$3 pays for one of those over-priced caffeine-spiked lattes

Any contributions over $50 will entitle the donor to a complimentary CD-R of rare recordings that are not available commercially.

All donations are appreciated.

(Be aware that PayPal commisssions tend to be high with small transactions. For example, a $1.00 donation may actually translate to 70 cents, or up to 30% in transaction fees)

Those of you that would like to bypass PayPal can snail-mail a clearly-written or typed-out order with a money order or check to:
